Author Guidelines

REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUSCRIPTS SUBMITTED TO THE “ADABIY MEROS” JOURNAL

Original, previously unpublished articles and materials that correspond to the subject area of the journal are accepted for publication.

The length of an original article (excluding the abstract, keywords and key phrases, and the list of references) must not exceed 10–12 pages at a line spacing of 1.

  • Text — Microsoft Word.
  • Format — A4.
  • Margins on both sides of the text — 2 cm.
  • Font — Times New Roman.
  • Font size — 14 pt.
  • Line spacing — 1, first-line indent — 1.25.
  • Articles are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, English and Turkish.

Manuscript Structure

The following structure of the article is recommended:

Title of the Manuscript

The title of an article or other material must be concise, consistent with its content, and must not exceed 12 words.

Authors

The authors’ full names must be given in the following order: first name, patronymic, surname; where there are two or more authors, they are separated by commas.

Author Affiliation(s)

This information must be provided in the following order: department, institute, city and country.

Corresponding Author

The following must be provided: first name, patronymic, surname; department, institution, country, full postal address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address.

The title of the article (in English, Russian and Uzbek) and the information about the author(s) are given in the Latin alphabet (transliteration).

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract is a brief summary in English, Russian and Uzbek, which is not counted towards the length of the scholarly article.

When setting out the main aspects of the article in the abstract, attention is paid to the following:

  • The abstract must cover the key information of the study and must not contain facts that are absent from the work.
  • The abstract follows the structure of the article: introduction, aim and objectives, methods, results/discussion, conclusion/concluding remarks.
  • The results are presented clearly, concisely and coherently.
  • The abstract does not repeat the title of the article and must not contain unnecessary comments or “introductory phrases” (“In this article, the author means that...”).
  • No quotations are given in the abstract.
  • The text of the abstract must be 250–300 words long.
  • Below the abstract, the heading “Keywords and key phrases” (8–10 items) is placed.
  • The keywords must express the main content of the article and consist mainly of important concepts of the field.

Introduction

The article must reflect the aim of the study and the state of the scholarly problem at the time the article was written.

Aim and Objectives

The substance of the article is set out systematically on the basis of its aim and objectives.

Methods

The research methods must be described in detail.

Results and Discussion

The results and discussion must be presented in expanded form (in some cases with the help of tables and figures); a comparative analysis and interpretation of previously published results are also given.

Conclusion

The answers to the questions posed in the introduction and the conclusions must be stated clearly.

References

  • The list of references is transliterated into the Latin alphabet.
  • The number of sources included in the list must be no fewer than 10 and no more than 50.
  • In the text of the article, in-text citations must be given as follows: [Author’s surname, year of publication: page].
  • For example: Surname, first name (year of publication). Title of the work, name of the publisher, city, page.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript complies with the requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • All references (citations) have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures are numbered and titled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photographs, datasets and other materials included in the manuscript.
